Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best wax for professional hair removal?

Crystal clear, rosin free soft wax like this one is an excellent choice for professional hair removal. It grips hair effectively without excess pull on the skin, spreads easily, and works well across nearly every area of the body, which is why so many estheticians reach for it as a go to option in the treatment room.

Is soft wax less painful than hard wax?

Yes, soft wax is generally less painful than hard wax. It is applied in a thin layer and removed with a strip, which distributes the pulling force more evenly across the skin rather than concentrating it the way hard wax does. This makes soft wax a gentler option, especially for larger areas or more sensitive skin.

Is this soft wax used with strips?

Yes. After applying a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth, you lay an epilating strip on top, apply pressure, hold the skin taut, and pull in the opposite direction of hair growth. This strip method is what gives soft wax its efficient, clean removal.

What size does this wax come in?

This wax comes in a 28 ounce can, double the size of a traditional 14 ounce can, giving you significantly more product per container. It is available as a single can or by the case of 12, so you can stock up based on how quickly your studio goes through wax.

Can I use a standard wax pot with this can size?

Yes, the 28 ounce can fits in most standard wax pots. That said, we recommend using a hot towel caddy to warm the wax first, then pouring it directly into your wax pot or into an insert within your pot. This keeps you fully stocked with warm, ready to use wax at all times, which is especially helpful for a busy waxing studio that cannot afford downtime between clients.

What makes this wax a good option for sensitive skin?

This wax contains no rosin, perfume, or dye, which makes it a great option for clients with ultra sensitive skin. It is also infused with tamanu oil and vitamin E, both of which help calm redness and irritation, so clients are left with noticeably less post wax reaction than they might experience with a traditional formula.

Does this wax contain nut oil?

Yes. This wax is infused with tamanu oil, derived from the seed of the tamanu tree, so it should not be used on guests with a nut allergy. Always ask about nut allergies during your client intake before using this wax.

What areas of the body can this wax be used on?

This wax can be used on all body areas and works well for nearly every skin type. Many estheticians love using it for full facial waxing and Brazilians in particular, though it performs just as well across larger body areas.

How do I apply this wax correctly?

Start by cleansing the skin with a pre wax cleanser, then apply a thin layer of pre or post waxing oil. Lay the wax on the skin with your stick at a 45 degree angle, spreading it thinly in the same direction as hair growth. Place an epilating strip on top, apply pressure, hold the skin taut, and pull in the opposite direction of hair growth. Finish by applying a post waxing oil or nourishing oil to soothe and calm the skin.

What is the easiest way to get the wax out of the can without a mess?

Before placing the can into your hot towel caddy, pop the metal top off first. Doing this ahead of time makes the top much easier to peel back once the wax is warm, and it prevents wax from getting stuck to the underside of the lid.

Are there any clients I should avoid using this wax on?

Yes. Avoid using this wax on guests with nut allergies, since it contains tamanu oil. You should also avoid it on irritated or broken skin, and on clients currently using Retin-A, Accutane, glycolic acid, or other alpha hydroxy products, since these can make skin more reactive to waxing.

Should clients avoid anything before or after their waxing appointment?

Yes. Clients should avoid sun exposure, tanning, and hot water for up to eight hours both before and after their waxing appointment, since freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to heat and UV exposure during that window.

Why should I buy this wax by the case instead of a single can?

Buying by the case of 12 keeps your studio fully stocked at all times, which matters most for a busy waxing studio where running out of wax mid day is simply not an option. It also gives you a better per can value than ordering single cans repeatedly.
