Which of your soft waxes should I use for faces and Brazilians, and which for body?

Our Clear Rosin Free Soft Wax is what our own studios use for full facial waxing and Brazilians, and it works everywhere on the body. It is rosin free, so it is a good choice for clients who react to traditional waxes, and it contains tamanu oil to calm the skin. Our Honey Soft Wax is the one we reach for on full body work. It is a little tackier and does not release from the skin quite the same way, so we use extra care with it on the face. Both can be applied thinner and slightly warmer than you might expect, and both come in a single 28 oz can or a case of 12.

Do I have to apply for a PRO account to buy wax and bulk oils?

No. There is no application and no login. Add what you need to your cart and check out with your business name and email, and we confirm professional status on PRO orders. Soft wax, bulk pre and post oils, and 8 oz PRO Nourishing Oils are professional use products, so we do ask that you are a licensed waxer, sugarist, esthetician, or salon owner with an active business. If you would like sales tax removed, email your resale certificate to hello@justthestrip.com before you order.

What are your Pre and Post Waxing Oils, and when do I use them in a service?

They are sunflower oil based, made in small batches in Southern Oregon, and they do two jobs. Before the wax, a thin layer protects the skin so the wax grips the hair rather than the skin, with both soft and hard wax. After the wax, the same oil lifts any leftover residue. They come in 16 oz glass pump bottles and one gallon refills, in Simply unscented, Dreamsicle, and Sandalwood Vanilla. They are for professional use in the treatment room; if you want an oil to retail or to send home as a sample, that is our PRO Nourishing Oil.

Why is there a shipping charge on wax when my order is over $200?

Wax, bulk pre and post oils, and 8 oz PRO Nourishing Oils are heavy, and a case of wax can cost close to $50 to ship across the country. As a small family owned business we cannot absorb that, so those items carry a shipping charge that covers only their own freight, and everything else in your cart over $200 still ships free. We keep those rates as close to our actual cost as we can, and if you are ever charged $2 or more over what we paid, we refund the difference automatically.

Yes. Just The Strip was founded by Tawnya Fornerod, a licensed esthetician with almost 25 years in waxing, and everything in this collection is used daily at Wax & Lash, her Denver studios, which have been open for almost 13 years. Nothing goes on sale here until it has been used on real clients there first, and if you have a question about how a product performs in a service, you can email hello@justthestrip.com and get an answer from an esthetician who uses it.

What is the difference between your Pre and Post Waxing Oil and your PRO Nourishing Oil?

They do different jobs in the service. Pre and Post Waxing Oil is a sunflower oil based treatment room oil, for professional use only. A thin layer goes on before the wax to protect the skin, and the same oil lifts leftover residue after. It comes in 16 oz pump bottles and one gallon refills, and it is not meant to be bottled up as samples or retailed. PRO Nourishing Oil is the 8 oz pump version of our retail Nourishing Oils, the same blend of grape seed, jojoba, tea tree, and copaiba oils, and it is the last step of the service after Smooth Operator or Truth Serum, to hydrate and support the skin. Because it is the same formula your client can buy, it is the oil to use in the room, put on your retail shelf, and give as a sample, so what she takes home matches what she felt during the service. It comes in Plain Jane, which is nut free and unscented, Silky Smooth Sandalwood, Slow Your Roll Lavender, Dreamsicle, and Lemon Dream.

How much wax and oil should I order to start?

For most single room studios, one can of Clear Rosin Free and one can of Honey is enough to learn how both perform before committing to a case, and a single 16 oz Pre and Post Oil lasts a long time because a little goes a long way. If you already know our wax, the case of 12 is the better value per can, and the gallon oil refills your 16 oz pumps many times over.
