What is the three step post wax routine?

Cleanse, treat, hydrate. Step one is Simply Pure Body Wash, a pH balanced, unscented wash that is gentle enough for daily use on freshly waxed and intimate skin. Step two is an ingrown hair serum, Smooth Operator for stubborn ingrowns or Truth Serum for sensitive skin and pregnancy. Step three is a Nourishing Oil to hydrate the skin and support the barrier while it heals. It is the routine we send clients home with from our own studios, and it takes about a minute in the shower and thirty seconds after.

What should I avoid in the first 24 to 48 hours after waxing?

Heat, friction, and anything that clogs the open follicle. That means no hot baths, saunas, or hot yoga, no tight clothing against the waxed area, no scrubs or exfoliating gloves, and no heavy lotions or scented products. What the skin wants in that window is a gentle cleanse, a serum to keep the follicle clear, and a light oil, which is exactly what the three steps are. After 48 hours, gentle exfoliation comes back into the routine.

How long should I keep using aftercare between waxes?

The whole time. Ingrowns form in the weeks between appointments as the hair grows back, not on the day of the wax, so the clients who see the best results use the serum and oil daily and the wash every shower. A single serum and oil typically last through a full waxing cycle, and using them consistently is also what makes the next wax easier, because the skin is calm and the hair comes out clean.

Why an unscented body wash instead of my regular one?

Most body washes are built for the whole body, with fragrance and a pH that can irritate skin that has just been waxed, especially intimate skin. Simply Pure is pH balanced for that skin, free of fragrance, and made with aloe, so it cleanses without stripping. It is safe for daily use on the bikini area and gentle enough that many clients switch to it for their whole body.

Where are these products made?

Simply Pure Body Wash, our Nourishing Oils, and our sugar scrubs are made by us in small batches in Southern Oregon, usually a few hundred units at a time. Smooth Operator and Truth Serum are made for us by manufacturing partners, and we are working to bring more of our line to US manufacturing. Every product page says where that product is made.

Are these safe during pregnancy?

Simply Pure Body Wash, Nourishing Oils, and Truth Serum are all safe to use during pregnancy and nursing, which makes a complete pregnancy safe routine. Smooth Operator contains salicylic acid and should be swapped for Truth Serum during pregnancy. Clients with specific concerns should check with their doctor.

I am a waxer or esthetician. Can I use and retail this routine in my studio?

Yes, and that is exactly how it was designed. Good aftercare is three steps, and this collection is all three of them. Just The Strip was created in 2020 by Tawnya Fornerod, a licensed esthetician with almost 25 years in waxing, because the products she wanted to send clients home with did not exist in a form that was clean, effective, and affordable at the same time. These are the products used at her own studios, Wax & Lash Denver, and made for anyone who waxes, sugars, or shaves.

 

Step one is Simply Pure Body Wash, pH balanced and gentle enough for daily use on intimate skin. Step two is an ingrown hair serum, either Smooth Operator for tougher ingrowns or Truth Serum for sensitive skin and pregnancy. Step three is a Nourishing Oil to hydrate and seal, in Plain Jane unscented or one of our signature scents. Exfoliating gloves, the Cactus Bikini Scrubber, and Wipe it Good personal wipes fill in the gaps between appointments.
