Meet Tawnya

Tawnya is a seasoned professional in the skincare industry with over two decades of working in the industry. Tawnya's entry into esthetics and skincare started with her working in a salon. Two years later she opened a spa with her parents but soon sold it, recognizing that working with family had its challenges. In 2013, Tawnya and her husband, Roeland opened Wax & Lash; a beautiful waxing, lash lift and brow lamination salon in downtown Denver. Over the years Wax & Lash has kept growing, now offering waxing and skincare in two Denver locations. Wax & Lash salons use all Strip products!

In 2020, Tawnya opened Just The Strip after recognizing a demand for quality skincare, both for professionals and consumers.

Tawnya has always been unique & creative with branding. While the skincare industry is chock-full of high-end luxury branding, Tawnya wanted to be different. She wanted something playful, gender neutral, and inviting, yet still beautiful and simple.  Never compromising her vision of quality in the services and products she has provided in her almost 20 years of experience. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, she has always been fully committed to mastering her work in the industry.

Tawnya’s direction with her passions has always been creating long-lasting connections personally and professionally. She knows transparency and truth are essential when it comes to building something genuine and reputable. Nomadic at heart and ready to look beyond Denver, Tawnya’s latest adventure has been finding her dream home. That home was in Southern Oregon. Bewitched by acres of charming land in a leisured patch surrounded by nature, she’s been busy decorating, gardening, spending time with family, and forever brainstorming ideas for her beloved businesses.

Meet Tawnya

I have been waxing for almost 25 years. I started in a salon, opened a spa with my parents, and in 2013 my husband Roeland and I opened Wax & Lash in Denver, a waxing, lash lift, and brow lamination studio that has now been open for almost 13 years and grown to two locations. Somewhere in those years I stopped being able to find the aftercare I wanted to send clients home with. Everything was either harsh, overpriced, or dressed up in packaging that made a Brazilian feel like a medical event. So in 2020 I made my own, and Just The Strip was born.

What Just The Strip is

Just The Strip is a family owned, esty owned waxing aftercare and skincare brand based in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley. We make a three step post wax routine, ingrown hair serums, nourishing oils, soft waxes and pre and post waxing oils for the treatment room, and a lash lift and brow lamination system, and we sell them two ways: to licensed waxers, sugarists, estheticians, and salon owners across the United States at PRO pricing, and directly to the clients who use them at home. Pros are the heart of our business, and every product we make has been used on real clients at Wax & Lash before it ever went on sale.

How our products are made

Most of what we sell is made by us, in small batches of a few hundred units at a time, in Southern Oregon. That includes our Nourishing Oils and PRO Nourishing Oils, Pre and Post Waxing Oils, Simply Pure Body Wash, our sugar scrubs, and our brow and lash conditioning oils. A few products, including Truth Serum, Smooth Operator, and our lash lift formulas, are made for us by manufacturing partners overseas, and we are actively working to move more of our line to US manufacturing because it matters to us and to the pros who carry our products. When something is made here, we say so on the product page, and when it is not yet, we say that too.

What we believe

We are honest about what our products do and do not do. We keep our pricing fair, because a pro should be able to retail our products at a real margin and a client should be able to afford to use them every day. We never pay for reviews, we do not chase the biggest followings, and we would rather build a long relationship with a waxer who is just opening her first room than buy a moment of attention. The pros who carry Just The Strip are our community, and we treat them that way.
