FAQs
Is honey wax good for waxing?
Yes. Honey wax is a reliable, well loved choice for hair removal. It grips the hair effectively without pulling too hard on the skin, spreads smoothly, and leaves skin feeling clean and comfortable, which is why it remains such a popular option in professional waxing.
How do I use Honey Soft Strip Wax?
Start by cleansing the skin with a pre wax cleanser, then apply a thin layer of pre or post waxing oil. Lay the wax on the skin with your stick at a 45 degree angle, spreading it thinly in the same direction as hair growth. Place an epilating strip on top, apply pressure, hold the skin taut, and pull in the opposite direction of hair growth. Finish with a post waxing oil or nourishing oil to soothe and calm the skin.
Can clients shower after a honey wax service?
Clients should wait a few hours before showering to give the skin time to calm down and reduce the chance of irritation. When they do shower, lukewarm water is best, and they should avoid scrubbing the area right afterward. Applying a gentle moisturizer once they are done helps keep the skin soft and comfortable.
What is the difference between this wax and the Clear Rosin Free Soft Wax?
This Honey Soft Strip Wax contains rosin and coconut oil, giving it the classic grip and feel of a traditional honey wax. The Clear Rosin Free Soft Wax skips rosin entirely and is infused with tamanu oil instead, making it the better choice for clients with especially sensitive skin or a nut allergy. Honey Soft Strip Wax is a great everyday, all purpose option, while Clear Rosin Free is the one to reach for with more reactive skin types.
What size does this wax come in?
This wax comes in a 28 ounce can, double the size of a traditional 14 ounce can, and it is available as a single can or by the case of 12, so you can stock your studio based on how quickly you go through wax.
Who developed this wax formula?
Honey Soft Strip Wax was developed by a licensed esthetician and professional waxer, so it was built with real treatment room experience in mind rather than a generic formula.
What areas of the body can this wax be used on?
This wax can be used on all general body areas by both men and women, and it works well across nearly every skin type, making it a versatile, everyday choice for your service menu.
Does this wax contain any common allergens I should ask clients about?
Yes. This formula contains coconut oil, so it is worth asking clients about coconut sensitivities during intake, just as you would ask about nut allergies before using our Clear Rosin Free Soft Wax.
Are there any clients I should avoid using this wax on?
Yes. Avoid using this wax on irritated or broken skin, and on clients currently using Retin-A, Accutane, glycolic acid, or other alpha hydroxy products, since these can make the skin more reactive to waxing. Always test a small area on the back of the wrist first to check for temperature sensitivity.
Should clients avoid anything before or after their appointment?
Yes. Clients should avoid sun exposure, tanning, and hot water for up to eight hours both before and after their waxing appointment, since freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to heat and UV exposure during that window.
Why should I buy this wax by the case instead of a single can?
Buying by the case of 12 keeps your studio fully stocked and ready for back to back appointments, and it gives you a better per can value than repeatedly ordering single cans.
Can I use the same hot towel caddy method with this wax as with the Clear Rosin Free wax?
Yes. Since both waxes come in the same 28 ounce can size, you can use a hot towel caddy to warm the wax and pour it directly into your wax pot or an insert, keeping your studio stocked and ready no matter which formula you are using that day.
