Why an exfoliating glove belongs in your shower

If you get ingrown hairs or rough, dry patches between waxes, a glove is the easiest fix there is. It takes no extra time, it works with the body wash you already use, and a few times a week it keeps dead skin from building up over the follicle so hair can grow through. They were chosen by Tawnya Fornerod, a licensed esthetician with almost 25 years in the beauty industry.

How to use and care for your gloves

Wet the glove, add a little body wash or sugar scrub, and massage in gentle circles. Afterward, rinse it well, squeeze out the water, and hang it to dry completely. Replace your gloves every three to four weeks, because the texture softens with use and a damp glove can hold onto bacteria.

Ingrown hairs often form when dead skin builds up over the follicle and the hair curls back under it. Using a glove a few times a week clears that buildup so hair can grow through the surface, which helps prevent ingrown hairs between waxes.

Wait 24 to 48 hours after waxing or sugaring, then use them a few times a week until your next appointment. Freshly waxed skin needs a day or two to settle first.

Every three to four weeks. The texture softens with use, and a glove that stays damp can hold onto bacteria, so rinse it after each shower, hang it to dry completely, and switch to a fresh pair each month.

No. One glove is enough for a full body exfoliation. Many people alternate them, so one can dry completely while they use the other.

Yes. They work with any body wash or scrub. Simply Pure Body Wash is gentle enough for daily use, and Sugar Body Scrub adds extra exfoliation on scrub days.

Each pair comes in a surprise color, so every order is a little different.

They are gently textured, and you control the pressure. Use a light touch on sensitive areas, skip any skin that is broken or irritated, and use them less often if your skin feels tender.
