Just The Strip makes two families of oil for waxing, and each one has its own job. Pre and Post Wax Oil lives in the treatment room and works alongside the wax itself, while Nourishing Oils are the finishing step of aftercare that your guests take home and use every day. Here is a simple guide to choosing the right one for your studio and your clients.
Pre and Post Wax Oil for the treatment room
Pre and Post Wax Oil is made for professional use. It is pure sunflower seed oil with no other carrier oils, and a thin layer before the wax creates a barrier between the wax and the skin. It works with both soft wax and hard wax, and with hard wax a lighter touch is all you need. After the service, a little oil on a paper towel lifts away any wax residue. Sunflower oil is light, absorbs well and will not clog pores, so it suits every skin type.
It comes in a 16 oz pump bottle or a gallon for busy studios, in three versions: Simply Unscented, our fragrance free option, Sandalwood Vanilla and Dreamsicle Vanilla Citrus.
Nourishing Oils for aftercare
Nourishing Oils are the last step of the routine, applied once the ingrown hair serum has dried. Grape seed and jojoba oils absorb quickly without leaving an oily feel, tea tree leaf oil helps keep the follicle clean, and copaiba resin oil soothes irritation. Used every day between appointments, the oil softens the hair, the skin and the follicle, so the hair slides out of the follicle much more easily at the next wax.
There are two formulas. Plain Jane is our nut free formula with no added fragrance, just four ingredients including a touch of tea tree and copaiba. Dreamsicle, Lemon Dream, Silky Smooth Sandalwood and Slow Your Roll Lavender add sweet almond oil, with natural fragrance in the first three and real lavender essential oil in Slow Your Roll, so anyone with a tree nut allergy should choose Plain Jane.
Which size to stock
The 8 oz Back Bar Size with a pump is made for the treatment room, in Plain Jane, Dreamsicle, Silky Smooth Sandalwood and Slow Your Roll Lavender. The 1 oz (30 ml) bottle is the retail size your guests take home, and a few drops go a long way. Licensed professionals can buy the 1 oz bottles in PRO 3 packs at half of retail, so the oil your guest feels at the end of the service is the one they leave with.
A quick way to choose
